How to overcome Fear and Anxiety in Patient with Oligohydramnios
Oligohydramnios is a condition where the amniotic fluid less than normal, which is less than 500 cc.

The exact cause is still unknown. Some of the circumstances related to the oligohydramnios is almost always associated with fetal urinary tract obstruction or renal agenesis.

Pregnant women with oligohydramnios often feel anxious / fearful. Anxiety / fear can result in fetal growth. Therefore it should be taken to reduce or even eliminate the fear / anxiety in pregnant women with oligohydramnios.

Goal:
1. Expressing fears and problems associated with complications in pregnancy.
2. Identify healthy ways to deal with anxiety.
3. Perform troubleshooting skills.
4. Using the sources of support systems effectively.

Actions that should be done by nurses, among others:

1. Pay attention to the level of anxiety and the degree of influence on the ability to act or make decisions.
Rationale: Stress is not resolved could affect the completion of the tasks of pregnancy, with the normal acceptance of pregnancy / fetus, and with decisions regarding future pregnancies versus sterilization.

2. Provide emotional warmth and support situations; receive client / partner as they are.
Rationale: Facilitate the development of a trusting relationship. Nonjudgmental acceptance boost the confidence.

3. Do not rush attitude at any time in the face of the family.
Rationale: The fear of ignorance and fear become an obstacle incompatible with the psychological and emotional rest.

4. Provide 24-hour access to the health care team.
Rationale: Lowers own feelings.

5. Review the likely sources of anxiety.
Rationale: Pregnancy is not complete associated with some anxiety for the client; subsequent complications will aggravate the state of uncertainty regarding the outcome of pregnancy. Acceptance of the reality of what is going to provide support.

6. Assess client's stress level with regard to medical complications, partner relationships, client relationships with family members, and the availability of support network.
Rationale: bad family relations and lack of support systems can increase stress levels.

7. Encourage clients to express feelings of frustration with regard to the rules of therapy and lifestyle changes. Explain to the client that the disclosure is acceptable and important.
Rationale: The client needed more opportunities to express anger about the changes in family life to minimize the anxiety level. Anxiety can affect decision making realistic.

8. Observed signs of emotional changes, imbalances, or conflict with the family or significant others.
Rationale: To provide an opportunity for early intervention.

9. Assess physiological response to anxiety (eg, blood pressure, pulse).
Rationale: Anxiety or stress may be accompanied by a release of catecholamines, creating a physical response that affects the sense of prosperity client and then increasing anxiety.

10. Provide appropriate information individually on interventions or actions and the potential impact of the client's condition and the fetus.
Rationale: Helps to reduce anxiety due to ignorance, improve optimal pregnancy outcomes.

11. Reinforce the positive aspects of the condition of the fetus, if any, such as fetal growth and activity.
Rationale: Improving the trust and expectations of the clients and the people nearby.
